Metlen Energy & Metals inks 10-year power purchase deal with Engie

Metlen Energy & Metals PLC on Wednesday announced the signing of a 10-year power purchase agreement with French electric utility firm Engie SA.

Under the PPA, Athens-based aluminium producer and electricity generator Metlen will supply solar generated power from six sites located in the UK.

The power capacity of the solar portfolio covered in the agreement, totals 235 mega watts, providing Engie with over 233 gigawatt hours of clean electricity annually.

‘This PPA strengthens Metlen’s growing portfolio of offtake agreements across Europe,’ and ‘deepens’ the global partnership with Engie, the company said.

Shares in Metlen Energy & Metals were up 2.0% at €43.70 on Wednesday morning in London.

Metlen was promoted to the FTSE 100 index in September after making its London stock market debut in August.

Engie was up 0.6% at €19.65 each in Paris on Wednesday.
