NBPE improves outlook despite "difficult start" amid AI concerns
Neuberger Private Equity Partners Ltd, formerly NB Private Equity Partners Ltd, on Wednesday said its portfolio delivered robust operating growth in the first half, while it made progress on realisations and returned capital to shareholders.
The Guernsey-based private equity investment company, managed by Neuberger Berman Group LLC, a New York-based investment management firm, said net asset value per share was USD28.00 at June 30, up 0.2% from USD27.94 at December 31.
Shares in NBPE were up 0.8% to 1,456.02 pence per share on Wednesday at midday in London.
NAV total return was 1.9% in the first half of 2026, down from 4.0% a year prior.
NBPE highlighted Dutch non-food retailer Action BV, US chemical manufacturer Solenis LLC, aerospace supply chain manager FDH Aero Ltd, Michigan-based manufacturer OneMonroe Engineering LLC and Hertford, England-based financial services and technology company True Potential LLP as the strongest performers in its portfolio.
In August, NBPE paid an interim dividend worth 0.47 US cents.
The company said: "Overall, NBPE's second quarter private valuations reflected a more positive environment, particularly relative to the more difficult start to the year driven by geopolitical uncertainty and AI software concerns. While a sustained recovery has been elusive over the last several quarters, we are seeing optimistic signs and our outlook for the second half of the year has improved over the last several months.
"Of course, the environment is not without its challenges, and we continue to monitor portfolio company developments closely. We believe the portfolio continues to perform well on an operating basis, and several meaningful exit events closed or were announced in the first half of the year."
NBPE also announced that company Chair William Maltby will retire in December and that David MacLellan has been appointed non-executive director and chair designate with immediate effect. He will succeed Maltby as chair on December 11 upon his retirement.
The company said MacLellan brings over 35 years' experience in private equity and fund management
