PRESS: UK government to double steel tariffs - The Guardian
The UK government has announced new targets to increase the use of domestically produced steel and impose higher tariffs on imports, The Guardian reported Thursday.
Secretary of State for Business & Trade Peter Kyle said the government has set a target of 50% of all steel used in the UK to be made domestically, with half of that being made in Wales.
The Guardian said that from July quotas on imports of many overseas steel products will be cut by 60% and tariffs outside those quotas will double to 50%.
