Rank Group selects Bain partner John Ott as new chair
Rank Group PLC on Tuesday said it has appointed John Ott as chair, with effect from next Monday.
The Maidenhead, England-based casino operator said Ott is currently a senior advisory partner at management consulting firm Bain & Co Inc.
He was previously the founder and board member of two private businesses. These were a data and technology services business and a global fractional ownership business.
Ott was also group strategy and M&A director at Barclays Bank PLC, a subsidiary of Barclays PLC, before joining Bain.
Ott will replace Karen Whitworth, who has served as interim chair since mid-October. Whitworth will resume her role as senior independent director and audit chair.
‘During a rigorous and wide-ranging selection process, John emerged as the stand-out candidate to become Rank’s chair,’ said Interim Chair Whitworth.
‘His wealth of experience in highly regulated industries, and advising and working with boards across the globe, will provide the group with the expertise and leadership that it requires as we embark on the next phase of our strategic journey.’
Shares in Rank Group were up 0.4% at 113.40 pence on Tuesday afternoon in London.
