Rentokil hires Flutter alumnus Paul Edgecliffe-Johnson to be CFO

Rentokil Initial PLC on Monday said Paul Edgecliffe-Johnson, a former Flutter and IHG executive, will join the company to be chief financial officer.

The Crawley, England-based pest control firm said Edgecliffe-Johnson will succeed current CFO Stuart Ingall-Tombs, who is retiring after 17 years at Rentokil.

Edgecliffe-Johnson served as CFO and board member of Flutter Entertainment PLC until May, when he left the gambling company. Prior to that, he was CFO & head of strategy at InterContinental Hotels Group PLC and associate director of corporate finance at lender HSBC Holdings PLC.

Edgecliffe-Johnson will join Rentokil on December 1, but Tombs will help complete the company’s financial statements for the year ending December 31 before officially handing over the reins in January.

Rentokil’s Chief Executive Andy Ransom said Edgecliffe-Johnson’s experience will be ‘invaluable’ as the company continues to implement its growth strategy in North America.

Rentokil shares were up 2.2% at 415.68 pence each on Monday morning in London.
