Senior hires Alpna Amar from Kier to be new chief financial officer

Senior PLC on Wednesday said it has appointed Alpna Amar as its new chief financial officer.

The Rickmansworth, England-based engineering firm confirmed that Amar will join the board in April next year as an executive director, before becoming CFO in May.

Amar succeeds Bindi Foyle, who will retire from the board in May. She joins from infrastructure construction firm Kier Group PLC, where she is currently corporate development director and a member of the executive committee.

She is also an independent non-executive board director of weapons systems maker Chemring Group PLC.

‘Alpna brings a wealth of experience in our end markets and a strong track record of helping to enhance shareholder value. I am sure she will make a fantastic contribution to Senior for the benefit of all of our stakeholders,’ said Chief Executive Officer David Squires.

Shares in Senior were trading marginally higher at 139.62 pence each in London on Wednesday morning.
