Smith & Nephew searches for new CFO as Rogers defects for US position

Smith & Nephew PLC on Wednesday said Chief Financial Officer John Rogers is leaving after a little over two years in post for a new job in the US.

Rogers, who became CFO in April 2024, is leaving on September 30 to take up an external position in the US, Smith & Nephew said. He will step down from the board immediately.

The Watford, England-based medical equipment maker said Pierre Palassian, currently senior vice president finance & group controller, will serve as interim CFO while Smith & Nephew looks for a successor.

Earlier this month, Smith & Nephew cut its full-year sales outlook after a weak second quarter.

S&N shares were down 3.8% at 1,068.16 on Wednesday morning in London following the announcement.
