Tan Delta Systems deepens Shell ties with new PS120,000 order

Tan Delta Systems PLC on Tuesday said it has secured a new order worth £120,000 from Shell PLC division, Shell Marine Products Singapore.

Sheffield, England-based Tan Delta provides oil-quality monitoring and maintenance systems for commercial and industrial equipment.

Tan Delta already possesses a distributor agreement with Shell Marine Products and said the systems are expected to be deployed on a variety of vessels to monitor critical pieces of equipment. These include propulsion engines, auxiliary engines as well as other support systems, the company said.

The order, said Tan Delta, is for real time oil analysis sensors which utilise its proprietary sensing technology to analyse oil in working equipment in real time at a molecular level. It said this enables accurate tracking of oil condition to end of life, and supports with issue detection.

Shares in the company were up 11% at 23.39 pence on Tuesday afternoon in London.

‘We have been building a long-term relationship with the Shell for several years to explore how they and their customers can benefit from Tan Delta real time oil condition monitoring technologies and products,’ said Tan Delta Chief Executive Chris Greenwood.

‘As a new disruptive technology and concept, it has taken some time to introduce this to a generally conservative industrial and commercial market, but as we recently advised in our Annual Report, whilst the sales cycle remains long, I expect the growth in user references to help with market confidence. This order, whilst small in the context of the overall commercial marine market segment, is a good example of this,’ continued Greenwood.
