Tekmar awarded EUR1 million at offshore windfarm project

Tekmar Group PLC on Monday said it has been awarded a contract worth EUR1 million with a European submarine cable contractor.

Tekmar will design and manufacture protection and stabilisation work to safeguard cables across a major offshore windfarm project.

Newton Aycliffe, England-based Tekmar is a technology and services provider for the offshore energy industry.

The deal, which Tekmar has secured with an unnamed existing customer, is expected to be delivered in 2026.

"The award represents an important milestone for Tekmar, strengthening its position in the European offshore wind market, while demonstrating continued momentum in its concrete solutions offering," Tekmar said.

"These cables represent a critical part of a windfarms infrastructure, with disruption resulting in costly shutdowns and interruption to power and revenue generation."

Tekmar shares were up 3.2% at 14.70 pence in London on Monday morning.
