Trainline appoints Flutter’s Ian Brown as CEO from September

Trainline PLC on Wednesday named Ian Brown as its next chief executive officer.

Brown will join the London-based rail and coach travel ticketing platform on September 7 ‘to support an orderly transition with [outgoing CEO] Jody Ford,’ before becoming CEO on September 28.

Trainline noted that Brown was most recently CEO of Flutter Entertainment PLC’s UK & Ireland division, ‘where he delivered sustained double-digit growth and strengthened its market position.’

Before working at Flutter, Brown as CEO of ANS Group and has served as CEO of the Trips Business unit at Booking.com.

Trainline Chair Brian McBride said: ‘Ian brings a strong track record in scaling digital platforms and marketplace businesses, with significant experience in online travel. I look forward to working closely with Ian to build on the momentum Trainline has generated as Europe’s leading rail app.’

Trainline shares fell 5.2% to 202.00 pence each on Wednesday morning in London.
