UK employers more confident about recruitment – REC

Employers in the UK are more confident about hiring workers and investing in their business, new research suggests.

The Recruitment & Employment Confederation, REC, said there had been a noticeable improvement in recent months in how employers believed the UK economy was performing.

Despite the improvement, employers are still cautious ahead of next month's budget, said REC.

Interim Chief Executive Maxine Bligh said: "Businesses are feeling better than they were three months ago, but let's not mistake improvement for recovery.

"Confidence is improving but not yet at the levels needed to deliver the growth businesses and the chancellor want."

The report was based on a survey of more than 700 employers.
