Unilever and Galaxy Surfactants sign deal for product innovation

Unilever PLC on Wednesday said it had signed a growth charter with existing partner Galaxy Surfactants Ltd.

Galaxy and London-based consumer goods maker Unilever have worked together for 45 years, with Galaxy contributing to several Unilever products. The Mumbai-based supplier played a key role in improving the performance of Dove shower gel, Unilever said.

Under the new charter, the companies will focus on improving product performance, sustainability and keeping costs competitive.

Galaxy Surfactants Managing Director K Natarajan said: "This Charter reinforces our commitment to combining scientific expertise to create long-term value for the home and personal care industries.”

Unilever Chief Procurement Officer Shailendra Sadera said: "The signing of the partnership growth charter with Galaxy marks a joint commitment to unlocking innovation to grow our home care, personal care and beauty & wellbeing business groups."

Unilever shares were down 0.1% at 4,575.00 pence on Wednesday morning.
