Vodafone wins Telenor Nordic international voice operations contract
Vodafone Group PLC's subsidiary Vodafone Procure & Connect on Thursday announced a strategic outsourcing partnership with Norway-based telecommunications firm Telenor ASA.
Vodafone Procure & Connect, the Luxembourg-based procurement and connectivity business of the Berkshire, England-based telecommunications provider, said under the agreement it will manage Telenor's international voice operations.
Telenor currently operates its international voice business through Telenor Linx across Telenor Norway, Telenor Sweden, DNA Finland, Telenor Denmark and Telenor Maritime.
Under the agreement, Vodafone Procure & Connect "will act as the operational gateway for inbound and outbound international voice traffic into and out of Telenor’s Nordic markets and Telenor Maritime," the company said.
The transition will be delivered over the next six months. Telenor Linx's existing customer and partner agreements will continue to be honoured throughout the transition to ensure "a structured and orderly migration process".
Telenor Linx Chief Executive Officer Stig Waagbo said the agreement reflects the company's "commitment to optimizing our operations while maintaining the highest standards of service".

Vodafone shares rose 0.3% to 119.65 pence on Thursday morning in London.
