What changes have been made to the Starter portfolios - September 2026

We recently carried out a review of our Starter portfolios. As a result of this review we have made the following changes to the Cautious and Adventurous portfolios.

Cautious portfolio change:

We’ve replaced the Waverton Sterling Bond fund with the Schroder Strategic Bond fund, believing the latter to have superior return potential due to the fund’s design and the calibre of the management team. The Schroder fund is marginally more expensive (+0.08% on the OCF), however, we believe this is well justified by the fund’s improved opportunity set.

Adventurous portfolio change:

We’ve replaced the abrdn Global Smaller Companies fund with the Artemis SmartGARP Global Smaller Companies fund. We believe the Artemis fund’s disciplined and repeatable systematic framework, is particularly appealing when investing in smaller companies, where the opportunity set is large and diverse.
