What you’ll need to find your pensions
Before we start searching for your pensions, you’ll need to set up a Ready-made pension account.
To open a Ready-made pension, you'll need to be 18 or over and a UK resident. It'll take around 10 minutes to set up your new account.
- We’ll also need a few details, so please make sure you have your National Insurance Number to hand – you'll find this on your National Insurance card, a benefit letter, payslip or P60.
To search for lost or old pensions, it's worth remembering
- We’ll need to know where and when you have previously been employed.
- Public sector pensions (for example an NHS pension) and jobs you left before 1990 or held for less than three months cannot be searched, as well as pensions associated with your current employer.
- We’ll let you know if you need to take any action before continuing with your transfer of pensions that have guarantees or protections in place.
- The Ready-made pension is designed to help you grow your retirement savings by combining and investing them in one place. If you’re planning on accessing your pension soon, it may not be right for you. Read the full account details first if you’re unsure.
Once you’ve provided your details, we’ll start searching and let you know what we find. Any transferred pensions are automatically invested into your chosen AJ Bell fund, so sit back and let us do the rest.
The need to knows
Before applying, please make sure you read the following to make sure our Ready-made pension is right for you. By opening a Ready-made pension, you’ll be agreeing to our declaration and account terms.

Ready-made pension account declaration
I apply to open an AJ Bell Ready-made pension and to become a member of the Sippdeal e-sipp (the 'scheme').
I confirm that I’ve read, agreed to and retained the key features, the terms and conditions for the AJ Bell Ready-made pension, including the charges, and the AJ Bell privacy policy.
I agree to be bound by the trust deed and rules of the scheme, which I have had the opportunity to consider. If contributions are to be paid, I declare that:
- I’m under 75 and I’m a relevant UK individual under Section 189 of Finance Act 2004.
- Each tax year, my total contributions to the Ready-made pension, and other pensions where I’m entitled to tax relief under Section 188 of Finance Act 2004, won't exceed the greater of my relevant UK earnings (e.g. your salary) under Section 189 of Finance Act 2004 or the basic amount (£3,600 for 2025/26).
- If I’m no longer eligible for tax relief on my contributions, I agree to tell you by 5th April that year, or 30 days from when I became ineligible – whichever is later.
I confirm that the declarations and information I’ll provide in this application will be correct, complete and not misleading, and I agree to notify AJ Bell of any changes without delay.
We’ll use your data in line with our privacy policy. This explains what data we collect, how we use, share, and store it – including the potential impacts of third parties using your data.
