I did the sprint distance triathlon. I really enjoyed the swim and the cycling sections, but really struggled with the heat on the run. Not only did I have jelly legs when I got off the bike, I also had a stitch for the first half lap of the run. I should had done more training!
I'm really glad I did it and would love to do it again next year - I just hope it's a little cooler.

I took part in last year's London triathlon but due to an injury earlier in the year I could only complete the swim and bike legs.
A colleague of mine kindly did the run leg for me. 2016 was therefore to a certain extent unfinished business, but the weather on the day really made me work for that final run leg!

Great event and already looking forward to 2017!

I was harangued in to it by another colleague after a few drinks who then dropped out from our team. Luckily we had the wonderful and consummate professional Harry Wiltshire who stepped in to do our cycling leg (I was doing the running leg).

Fuelled by a kebab and cocktails from the previous night, the running leg was hard going but I took inspiration from the crowd cheering me on which got me passed the line.

Great experience and would love to do it again!

I competed in the Triathlon this year simply to prove to myself that I could do it. It has been something I have wanted to do for many years now, and after finally taking the plunge I can honestly say that it was an experience I will never forget. A tough challenge, great support, and more than anything else… So much fun. I’d recommend it to anyone.

Having never done a triathlon before entering this event I didn't know what to expect. The thought of swimming in open water was intimidating as I am not a strong swimmer at the moment. However, the event was really well organised and had a great atmosphere! Although I spent more time in the water than I would have liked I felt comfortable and enjoyed every minute, especially the cycle leg where you get a good view of the London sky line. From being a quite nervous beginner I am now hooked and would like to do this event again.

Thank you to AJ Bell for the invite. A brilliant event full of nerves, adrenaline, doubt, euphoria and ultimately exhaustion....mostly occurring in that order.

An exceptionally hot day was something of a surprise. The swim was a welcoming cool down, though the lack of vision in the murky water was a little unsettling, however overall the swim was enjoyable and a relief to complete.

I've never been good at anything endurance related, and previously scoffed at the idea of attempting a triathlon - though I'd always wanted to complete a distance event of some sort; for the personal satisfaction of achieving it. When presented with the opportunity to take part I couldn't refuse and started training up to 5 times a week in preparation for it. On the day I was a bit nervous, and completely surprised by the fun welcoming atmosphere! It was such a great day and really enjoyable to take part, I managed my target time with 15 seconds to spare, phew...

Having won a free sponsors place I ran in memory of a very good friend and triathlon training buddy Darren Hale who died the weekend before after completing the Blithfield Standard Triathlon.

I was a little nervous at the start line but the event was such a fantastic one that I enjoyed every minute of it and thought of Darren all the way round. My wife Jo and daughter Hannah were there to watch me and I was tearful at the end but really glad I did it.

A real big thank you to the Sponsors AJBell!
