Can I invest some of my pension in the Pension builder fund and choose my own investments for the rest?

Answer

With an AJ Bell SIPP, you can invest some of the money into the Pension builder fund and put the rest into your choice of other investments.

We provide a wide range of investment options, including:

  • Shares
  • Funds
  • Investment trusts
  • Exchange traded funds (ETFs)
  • Bonds and gilts

If you choose the Pension builder fund in our Ready-made pension, all money in the account will be invested into that fund. As such, you won’t be able to choose another investment alongside it.

What if my pension savings goals change and the Pension builder fund is no longer right for me?

You should review your pension investments regularly. If your retirement goals or your personal circumstances change, the Pension builder fund may no longer be right for you.

If you’ve invested in a SIPP, you can sell the fund by logging into your account and clicking ‘Deal’ next to the fund (the AJ Bell Balanced fund). You can then choose other investments from our wide range of investment options.

If you’ve invested in a Ready-made pension, you’ll need to select another investment option. Please contact us on 0345 54 32 600 and we’ll make the change for you.

If you’re unsure about the right approach for your pension savings, you should consider speaking to an authorised financial adviser.
