What else do you need to know?
What is the Lifetime ISA government bonus?
When you pay into a Lifetime ISA, the government will top up your amount with a 25% bonus. So if you save the maximum of £4,000 in a tax year, you’ll be granted £1,000 extra to give you an extra boost. However, you'll pay a 25% government withdrawal charge if you take out the money for anything other than buying your first home or retirement.
Are there any costs that will impact your calculation?
Yes - account and dealing charges may vary depending on how many investments and deals you plan to make. An annual charge of 0.75% has been deducted from the projected Lifetime ISA value above, so it gives you a clearer idea of potential returns.
How much should you pay into a Lifetime ISA each month?
This depends on your financial status – how much you can afford to put away each month – and how much you want to save for the future. In order to use our regular investment service, you must deposit at least £25 per month into your Lifetime ISA, but many investors choose to save even more than this.
