Aquis Stock Exchange names Lopez next chair as Berkeley steps down
Aquis Stock Exchange on Wednesday announced that Chair Michael Berkeley is stepping down, with effect from April 1.
Independent Non-Executive Director Danny Lopez will succeed Berkeley from the same date, the London-based exchange said.
Lopez is currently chief executive officer of cyber security company Glasswall, AQSE noted, stating: ‘Danny’s experience across finance, technology and international markets will be invaluable as AQSE continues to evolve its platform and support the next generation of innovative growth companies.’
‘I am honoured to take on the role of chair at AQSE,’ Lopez commented. ‘The exchange plays an important role in helping ambitious growth companies access public capital and connect with investors, and I look forward to working closely with the board and management team to build on the exchange’s momentum in the years ahead.’
Berkeley joined AQSE as a non-executive director, before his own promotion to chair in 2020.
‘During his tenure he oversaw the integration of that business with Aquis, and has since guided the exchange through a period of significant development, reinforcing its role in supporting entrepreneurial and growth companies to access public capital,’ AQSE added.
AQSE CEO Alasdair Haynes, who is also president of Aquis Exchange, commented: ‘I have greatly valued [Berkeley’s] support, insight and counsel during periods of important progress for the exchange. We are now delighted to welcome Danny as chair.
‘Danny has already made a significant contribution to AQSE as a NED, and I look forward to working together as we continue to develop AQSE and deliver on our strategic ambitions.
