IN BRIEF: Big Technologies has positive half-year as searches for CEO
Big Technologies PLC - Rickmansworth, England-based electronic monitoring hardware and software for criminal justice uses - Revenue is £26.9 million in the first half of 2026, up 5.9% on a constant currency basis from a year before. This lifts adjusted earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation by 14% to GP14.2 million from £12.5 million, with an adjusted Ebitda margin of 53%, up from 50%. Big Technologies notes that annual recurring revenue stands at £53.2 million as of June 30, up 4.5% from a year before, also at constant currency. Looking ahead, the company says it is set for further growth in the second half. It cites a contract win in Chile and a renewal in Guatemala, as well as six new wins in the US. New products AlcoTag and AlcoBreath are finding success, Big Technologies says. The company will release its full interim results on September 14.
Acting Chief Executive Officer Charles Lewington says Big Technologies has built on its return to profit in the second half of 2025. "Over the past year, we have strategically strengthened the group's leadership team and operational structure, this has been achieved on a cost-neutral basis, driving improved operational performance and enhanced profitability," he says.
Big Technologies is searching for a new CEO, as Ian Johnson is set to retire on Friday after more than 14 years with the company.
