Essentra PLC - Oxford, England-based manufacturer and distributor of plastic-injection-moulded, vinyl-dip-moulded and metal components - Hires Sharmila Nebhrajani as non-executive director, joining the board on June 29 and replacing Mary Reilly as senior independent director on January 1. Nebhrajani worked at the BBC for 13 years, finishing as chief operating officer for BBC Future Media & Technology where she managed the bbc.co.uk business and the launch of iPlayer. Nebhrajani currently is a non-executive director of water utility Severn Trent PLC, safety products maker Halma PLC and television broadcast ITV PLC.
