IN BRIEF: Gulf Keystone reports production ramp-up at Shaikan Field
Gulf Keystone Petroleum Ltd - Bermuda-registered oil producer focused on Kurdistan - Says gross production volume has "successfully ramped up" to over 43,000 barrels of oil per day. This follows production and export operations restarting on June 24, after they were halted in February due to the outbreak of the US-Israeli war with Iran. The company was also discussing a revised Shaikan Field Development Plan with Kurdistan’s Ministry of Natural Resources at the time. Gulf Keystone says well activities are now underway to bring incremental production online in the coming weeks. Says it is still closely monitoring the security environment in Kurdistan and the wider region.
Gulf Keystone adds that it is progressing towards sustainable export sales at international prices, and that constructive engagement is underway to implement long-term export agreements. Says it remains focused on strict cost control and that its discussions with the Ministry of Natural Resources regarding a revised field development plan continue.
