IN BRIEF: HSBC senior director to depart after new chair installed

HSBC Holdings PLC - London-based, Asia-focused lender - Senior Independent Director Ann Godbehere will leave the board at HSBC’s annual general meeting in 2026. HSBC normally holds its AGM in May. HSBC Chair Brendan Nelson says Godbehere is stepping down for ‘personal and lifestyle reasons’ now that the search for a new board chair has been completed. The process had taken seven months. Nelson, who had been serving as interim chair, was named permanent chair at the start of December. Former chair Mark Tucker had announced in May his plan to leave at the end of September. HSBC didn’t on Tuesday announce a new senior independent director.
