IN BRIEF: Hydro Hotel Eastbourne loss widens despite revenue growth

Hydro Hotel Eastbourne PLC - Eastbourne, England-based hotel operator - Announces results for six months to April 30. Revenue climbs to £2.1 million from £2.0 million in the year prior. Overheads rise by 8% as repair costs increase by £45,944 in the period compared to a year ago due to repairs to the hotel’s boiler flue, the replacement of windows and fire doors and other essential repair work. Gross profit rises 9% in the half despite costs increasing by 10%. Loss widens to £97,225 from £76,957.

Highlights during the period include replacement of the air conditioning in the Wedgwood Room, the garden furniture on the Coastal Terrace and two boilers. General refurbishment of the bedrooms and public areas continued.
