IN BRIEF: Informa hires former Reuters chief Tom Glocer as chair

Informa PLC - London-based business information publisher and events organiser - Hires former Reuters chief executive Tom Glocer as its next chair. Glocer will join the Informa board as a non-executive director on October 1 and replace John Rishton as chair in 2027.

Glocer led London-based news and market data provider Reuters from 2001 to 2011, overseeing its acquisition by Toronto-based Thomson in 2008 to create Thomson Reuters Corp. Thomson Reuters later spun off its Financial & Risk division, bringing in private equity firm Blackstone Inc as an investor, in 2018. This business, which included market-data terminals but not Reuters news, was rebranded as Refinitiv. The pair then in 2019 agree to sell Refinitiv to London Stock Exchange Group PLC, with this completed in 2021.

Glocer currently is lead independent director at Morgan Stanley and Merck & Co Inc and a non-executive director of Publicis Groupe SA.
