IN BRIEF: Standard Chartered names Manus Costello as finance chief

Standard Chartered PLC - London-headquartered lender - Appoints Manus Costello as chief financial officer, pending regulatory approval, with Costello becoming interim CFO with immediate effect. Notes Costello’s 25 years of equity research experience, and says he will report directly to Chief Executive Bill Winters. Costello taker over from Peter Burrill who has appointed interim CFO back in February, succeeding Diego De Giorgi who stepped down. Also appoints Tanuj Kapilashrami as chief operating officer, effective immediately. Notes that Kapilashrami joined the company back in 2017, and has been a member of the management team since 2021.

‘I am delighted that Manus has agreed to take on the role of group chief financial officer. Since joining Standard Chartered two years ago, he has made a significant contribution to the group’s strategic positioning and engagement of stakeholders, while also bringing strong rigour and an entrepreneurial mindset to the role,’ says CEO Bill Winters.
