Corero Network Security inks $1.5 million contract extension

Corero Network Security PLC on Tuesday saw its shares edge upwards as it reported the expansion of its contract with US-based Lightedge, deepening its relationship with the provider of secure, compliant hybrid infrastructure and services.

The London-based group, which is a provider of distributed denial-of-service protection solutions, said it has secured a five-year, $1.2 million expansion of its existing partnership with Iowa-based Lightedge.

Under the agreement, Corero’s DDoS protection will be extended across Lightedge’s data centre network globally, with it replacing an existing provider within part of the infrastructure.

Shares in Corero Network Security closed up 2.5% at 16.15 pence on Tuesday in London.

Corero said the expanded contract will boost Lightedge’s defence capabilities against ‘increasingly sophisticated’ DDoS attacks that target cloud service providers and critical infrastructure.

Corero Chief Executive Carl Herberger said: ‘Lightedge is helping businesses thrive in the hybrid cloud era - where performance, compliance, and uptime are non-negotiable. We’re proud to deepen our partnership with Lightedge, delivering protection that’s as scalable and dynamic as the threats it defends against.’
