CT Healthcare Trust net asset value falls 3% but beats benchmark

CT Healthcare Trust PLC on Monday reported a decline in interim net asset value, although it outperformed its benchmark over the period.

The London-based investment trust reported a net asset value per share of 142.23 pence as of May 31, down 3.0% from 146.58 pence at November 30.

NAV total return decreased 1.1% in the six months to May 31, outperforming its benchmark, the MSCI World Healthcare Index, which declined 5.1%.

The company paid a dividend of 2.7 pence per share on May 29, equivalent to 3.5% of CT Healthcare's NAV at the end of the previous financial year, in line with company policy. A further dividend of 2.565 pence per share will be paid on September 18 to shareholders on the register on 28 August 2026, with an ex-dividend date of August 27.

Looking ahead, the fund manager said the healthcare sector has performed strongly, but believes the broad rally is unlikely to continue through the second half of 2026.

Nevertheless, the manager remains moderately positive on the sector, with stock selection expected to be key. Ongoing questions around drug pricing and trade policy are making investors cautious about paying higher valuations for larger pharmaceutical companies.

CT Healthcare Trust shares closed up 1.0% at 140.80 pence in London on Monday.
