Everyman remains cautious despite better first half; mulls delisting
Everyman Media Group PLC on Monday kept its outlook cautious and said it continues to engage with stakeholders on delisting, despite stronger first-half trading.
The London-based premium cinema chain reported 2.6 million admissions in the first half, up 21% from 2.2 million a year earlier and supporting a 24% jump in revenue to £70.0 million from £56.5 million.
Adjusted earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation post-IFRS16 amounted to £10.8 million, up 32% from £8.2 million on-year.
Paid-for average ticket prices ticked up 4.1% to £12.97 from £12.46 per head, while food and beverage spend per head increased 3.0% to £11.41 from £11.09.
Everyman estimated that its market share had advanced to 6.4%, signalling an improvement from the 5.8% share it had reported in the first half of 2025.
As of July 2, net debt stood at £17.1 million, reduced from £24.2 million a year prior, which the company attributed to "strong operational cashflows, timing of working capital payments and limited venue expansion capital expenditure in the period".
Everyman noted: "While trading performance has been positive for the first half, the directors retain a degree of caution for the full year outlook due to the challenging economic environment and the significance of fourth-quarter trading to the overall annual performance of the company.
"As previously stated, the directors are also assessing various investment projects, including significant investment in IT infrastructure, which are expected to generate long term returns but will affect profitability in the second-half of 2026. The directors currently expect financial year performance to be marginally ahead of 2025."
In parallel, the board continues to engage with stakeholders on a potential delisting, with a further announcement planned by the end of August.
The company publishes interim results for the 26 weeks ended July 2 on September 24.
Everyman shares fell 2.0% to 49.00 pence each on Monday afternoon in London.
