Kainos shares jump as annual results to beat market expectations

Kainos Group PLC on Tuesday raised its revenue and earnings guidance, as it said sales momentum from financial 2026 has continued into the new financial year.

London-based Kainos provides IT support to customers across three divisions: Digital Services, Workday Services, and Workday Products.

It said the double-digit percentage revenue growth and record order backlog that it achieved in the financial year that ended March 31 has continued into financial 2027. As a result, it said its annual results will be "comfortably ahead" of current market expectations.

Kainos cited these as adjusted pretax profit of £75.0 million to £84.0 million on revenue of £498.0 million to £514.0 million. This would be up from £67.1 million and £431.1 million in financial 2026. Revenue grew by 17% in financial 2026 from financial 2025.

Since the start of the new financial year, the Digital Services division "continues to grow very strongly", Kainos said, supported by contracts secured in the second half of financial 2026 and so far in the new year. The Workday Services and Workday Products division are recording double-digit percentage revenue increase over the same period a year before, it said.

Kainos said confidence in its outlook is supported by "a significant multi-year contracted backlog".

"While the macroeconomic environment remains volatile, Kainos operates in markets driven by clear structural trends and remains well positioned to deliver on its strategy," the company said.

Kainos shares were up 13% to 1,100.89 pence early Tuesday in London. It has a market capitalisation of more than £1 billion.
