TT Electronics poaches SIG's CFO Ian Ashton; appoints new chair

TT Electronics PLC on Friday announced that Ian Ashton will become its next chief financial officer, succeeding Richard Webb who has been interim CFO since May last year.

The Surrey, England-based electronic connector manufacturing company said Ashton joins from Sheffield, England-based building materials firm SIG PLC, where he currently serves as CFO.

Ashton has a notice period of up to six months, while SIG is searching for a new CFO.

TT Electronics Chief Executive Officer Eric Lakin said: ‘We are delighted to announce Ian’s appointment as CFO. He brings a strong combination of financial expertise, operational insight and leadership experience, which will support the Group in building on the positive progress achieved over the past 12 months in creating a clearer strategic direction and a stronger platform for growth.’

On Thursday, TT Electronics had announced that it appointed Phil Swash as independent non-executive chair with effect from the end of its annual general meeting to be held on May 15.

Swash’s career includes engineering businesses such as Airbus SE, BAE Systems PLC, GKN, Latecoere and Survitec. He is currently chair at Survitec Group Ltd.

Swash succeeds current TT Electronics Chair Warren Tucker.

TT Electronics shares were 0.5% lower at 117.47 pence each on Friday morning in London, while SIG shares rose 5.0% to 9.03p each.
