UPDATE: Decline in Plus500 shares softens as issues trading update
Plus500 Ltd on Friday announced it is trading in line with market expectations amid a "strong" cash position, which cushioned the decline in its share price.
The trading platform operator said it "continued to perform strongly" after posting "record" financial results and strategic progress for the first half of 2026.
The company confirmed that it continues to trade in line with current market expectations announced back in August for 2026 and maintains a "strong" cash position.
Back in August, Plus500 said the consensus forecast is for 2026 revenue of USD811.5 million, up 2.4% from USD792.4 million in 2025, and earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation of USD365.1 million, up 4.9% from USD348.1 million.
"The group's proprietary risk management framework has been through various market cycles over the years and has demonstrated an established and robust track record over time," the firm said Friday.
Plus500 said it will publish its full third quarter update later in October as planned.
Plus500 shares were down 4.3% at 3,272.00 pence each just before noon on Friday in London, a recovery from a prior sharper fall to 2,948.00p, which occurred after IG Group Holdings PLC, an online trading platform, cut its revenue outlook after a weak third quarter.
In a trading statement, IG said it now expects total revenue growth to be in a mid-single-digit per cent range year-on-year in 2026.
According to company-compiled consensus, analysts forecast revenue of £1.26 billion for IG Group Holdings in 2026, which would be up 12% from 2025's £1.12 billion.
