Fund Manager
Tom McGoldrick is AJ Bell's Fund Manager. He joined the company in 2018 after graduating with a Master's degree in Maths from Durham University. He has held multiple roles in the business including Operations & Portfolio Analyst, Passive Fund Analyst, Portfolio Analyst and Senior Portfolio Analyst before moving on to his Fund Manager title.
Tom works for the AJ Bell managed portfolio service (MPS) specialising in multi-asset investing, mean-variance optimisation and financial modelling of expected asset class returns. He was designated Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) status in 2022 and also earned a Certificate in ESG Investing by the CFA Institute in 2023.
Tom has a keen interest in mathematical sciences and physics, having studied quantum field theory and topological quantum computing at postgraduate level - which has no doubt aided his understanding of the financial markets since!
