Can I withdraw the cash received from a corporate action?

Answer

If you’ve received cash from a corporate action and it has been paid into your Stocks and shares ISA or Dealing account, you can request to withdraw it to your nominated bank account. You can do this online from the 'My account' page.

How this happens will depend on the type of account:

  • If you’d like to withdraw the income received from your Stocks and shares ISA or Dealing account investments on a regular basis, please complete a regular cash withdrawal form and return it to us.
  • If the cash received from a dividend or other corporate action has been paid into your SIPP, you’ll only be able to withdraw it after you have reached the age of 55 (age 57 from 6 April 2028).
  • If the cash has been paid into your Lifetime ISA, withdrawals are subject to a 25% penalty if taken out for any reason other than to buy your first eligible home, from 60 for retirement, or in the case of terminal illness.
