How can I deal in complex financial instruments?
Before you can invest in complex financial instruments, you'll need to complete an online test. We’ll also ask you to take a test again every 12 months. That's because dealing in – and holding – complex financial instruments involves a high degree of risk, and we're required by our regulator, the Financial Conduct Authority, to make sure you have the necessary experience and knowledge.
You’re not able to invest in complex financial instruments in a Junior ISA or Junior SIPP.
You won't be able to deal in complex financial instruments until you've completed the test or if your previous result has expired.
To take the test, or check if your result has expired, log in to your account and from the ‘My account’ menu, choose ‘Update my details’.
If you’re not sure whether an investment is right for you, please speak to a qualified financial adviser.
