A share in my ISA is subject to a corporate action – are there any additional implications?
Answer
Generally, corporate actions are treated exactly the same within an ISA. However, there may be additional factors to consider.
For example, you might have the opportunity to take up more shares via a rights issue or open offer. In this case, you might need to pay further cash into your ISA. If you have no remaining allowance, this will affect the options available to you.
Some investments can demerge or issue new shares and these may not always be eligible for inclusion within an ISA. If this is the case, we’ll write to you and let you know your options.
