Industrial production in Ireland slumped monthly in January, numbers from the country’s Central Statistics Office reported on Friday.
Industrial production fell 29% on-month in January, and slumped 32% on an annual basis. The figures are based on ‘early returns’ from survey respondents, the CSO said.
It was the sharpest monthly output slide since a 30% fall in March 2023.
In December, output had risen 19% from November, and surged 32% on-year
Production in manufacturing industries alone decreased by 47% in January from December, having risen 68% in December from November. It slumped 35% on-year in the first month of 2024, having jumped 36% annually in December.
